I think the title of this post says it all. We are humbled and excited that in 2011 there is actually a box of wine that has a regular place on our counter top.
Big House Red is where it's at. We pick ours up for $17.00 a box at our local wine and spirits shop. One box is equal to four bottles. That's $4.25 a bottle. That's $51.00 a case. Damn, if it's drinkable and priced like that... duh, you're winning!
Advantages: The wine is in a bladder inside the box. This prevents oxidation and allows the wine to keep even after opening for a long time.
Disadvantages: Trust us, you can totally drink way too much of this stuff! It's a spigot of fast flowing tasty table wine...and there is four bottles worth in there..be careful.
The wine is fruity with hints of leather and really quite good. Aside from their website (quite possibly the most irritating internet experience of recent memory) Big House Red is a totally drinkable boxed wine and that's something to be truly excited about.
